Mild Steel Finish (Ready to Rust)

Opting for a mild steel planter allows it to naturally develop a unique patina over time, transforming it into a rustic masterpiece. Once your planter has achieved the desired level of rust, you can preserve its appearance by applying a clear lacquer to prevent further oxidation. Additionally, you have the flexibility to paint your mild steel planter to complement your garden's style, making it a versatile choice.

Powder-Coated Finish

A powder-coated finish offers excellent durability against various weather conditions due to its strong, hardened surface. However, if the coating becomes scratched or damaged, it's advisable to re-coat the entire metal area to maintain a consistent appearance. While touch-up paint in black is available for powder-coated surfaces, be aware that larger touch-up areas may reveal slight color differences, which could be noticeable.

Are your planters able to withstand different weather conditions?

Definitely! Our planters are designed to handle a variety of weather elements. If the metal parts are powder-coated, they offer excellent durability against the elements.

What should I do if I opt for the mild steel option?

Not much! The beauty of choosing the mild steel option is to let it develop a natural rust over time, creating a lovely rustic patina. Once it reaches your preferred level of rust, we suggest applying a clear sealant or using an oily rag finish to prevent any further rusting.

What size flower pot does the planter accept ?

The shelf of our planters are designed to accept a single large 9" (230mm) diameter plant pot

How strong are your planters?

They may be small and charming, but don’t let their size fool you; they are remarkably robust and well-built.

Can you provide information on delivery costs?

The delivery fee for our lovely planters to the UK Mainland is just £15.00. If you’re looking to ship to other locations, no worries! The shipping cost will be calculated at checkout.

Is your powder-coated option available in colours other than black?

Absolutely! While black creates a bold look, especially when combined with vibrant flowers, we can provide other colour choices if they are available from our powder-coater. Just keep in mind that this might affect the price, so be sure to check before placing your order.

Do you have a return policy?

We’re delighted that you love our planters! If the planter is a standard design from our stock, we can accept returns. However, if it’s a custom-made item or has personalisation's, we cannot accept returns unless there’s a defect with your planter (which we truly hope doesn’t occur!).

Delivery

All of our planters come in flat-pack form, but there's no need to be concerned; they are simple to put together. We provide complete assembly instructions, and all you'll require is a spanner or wrench and a flat-head screwdriver. It's important to note that we use 'nyloc' nuts, which eliminate the need for washers. However, this also means they can't be tightened by hand because of the inner plastic sleeve, so a spanner or wrench is necessary.

Timescales

We collaborate with a fantastic group of local suppliers who work hard to help create our planters. However, this means we sometimes need to align with their production timelines. While we strive to maintain a stock of our most popular planters, please allow approximately 2-3 weeks for delivery on personalised orders or items that are currently out of stock If you need it sooner, feel free to reach out, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Metal & Workmanship

We’re excited to share that all products from Sit-U Ltd come with a one-year guarantee starting from the date of your complete payment! This warranty covers any structural defects caused by poor materials or workmanship related to the mild steel used. Just a friendly reminder, though—regular wear and tear or any damage incurred isn’t covered. Thanks for choosing us!

Powder-Coated Finish

Our Powder-Coated finish is durable, hard-wearing and weather resistant, and for this reason we offer a 12 month guarantee on all our powder-coated products in case rust appears during this period

It's important to note that this warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or any damage that affects the integrity of the powder-coated finish.
